

Jack Metzger, age 81, a lifelong resident of Grove City, passed away December 28, 2010 at his home. Jack spent 10 years as a resident of Winter Haven, FL during the winter. He was born October 18, 1929 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Herbert F. and Lillian E. Metzger. Jack was preceded in death by his first wife of 33 years, Virginia; second wife of 20 years, Lena (Breckenridge); and brother, James L. Metzger. He is survived by his sons, Michael and Glen; daughter, Jackie McLaughlin; sister, Dolores Ford; 3 grandchildren; and 1 great granddaughter. Jack graduated from Grove City High School in 1947. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict as an Army engineer. Jack retired from Johnson Controls after 27 years of service. He was a member of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 189, of which he was a member for 58 years. Member of the American Legion Post #164 and a member of Bethel Lutheran Church. A special thank you to all his friends and people who cared for Jack in his later years. Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL, where family will receive friends from 5-7 P.M. Monday. Rev. Lloyd Markley will be officiating and interment at Grove City Cemetery.
