

Msgt. Jack Carol Wilson, age 86 of Gahanna, passed away peacefully October 5, 2014, surrounded by his wife Alice and his children. Retired after 22 years from the US Coast Guard and US Army, and another 20 years with the USDA. Born November 29, 1927 to Storm Wilson and Ann Rutan in New Auburn, Wisconsin. He served in the US Coast Guard toward the end of WWII, enlisted in the US Army and fought in the Korean conflict from 1951-1953. He retired from the US Army in 1968 as a highly decorated military veteran, which included receiving the Bronze Star for service in Korea. After his retirement, he took up golf and played wherever he could with his buddies, wife, and sons. Survived by loving wife of 66 years, Alice (nee Bartunek), marrying on September 18, 1948 in Grand Haven, Michigan. He is also survived by five sons, Jack (Dona), Robert, Donald (Craig), Rodney (Pam), and Roger (Kim); 7 grandchildren, Michael, Kristi, Kelly, Megan, Blair, Andrew, and Matthew; 5 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Survived by one of five siblings, his sister, Gerry Kramer of Falls Creek, Wisconsin. Friends may visit Wednesday, October 8, 2014 from 3-7 P.M. at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, Ohio 43230. Funeral Mass Thursday, October 9, 2014 at 9:30 A.M. at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, 807 Havens Corners Rd., Gahanna, Ohio 43230. Father Ryan Schmit, Celebrant. Interment at the Veterans Garden in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Special thanks to the staff of Mt.
