

James "Jim " Albert, 91, Columbus, Ohio, passed away on June 7, 2017 at home. Jim never met a stranger and always had a cheery smile or friendly clever words to share. Along with his father John, his brother Bernard, and sister-in-law Wanda Daughty Albert, he successfully operated Albert's Paint and Wallpaper Company for over fifty years in Columbus. James was born May 7, 1926 to the late John Emil Albert and Helen Gues, step-mother Clara Ellenberger Albert. He graduated from St. Charles Preparatory HS in 1944, and was a decorated Army rifleman in the Philippines and Japan in WWII. Preceded in death by his wife of 51 years Charlotte Krumm, daughter, Theresa (at birth), and brother, Bernard. Survived by loving children Cathy (Cate) Flanagan and John C. Albert, nieces/nephews Patricia Albert (Bill) Conley, James Schneider, Diane (Clyde) Clay, great nephew Curtis Blake, Dave (Connie) Gerhardt, Bill (Kathy) Gerhardt , Linda (Bob) Sommer, Nancy (Ron) Miller, Peggy (Bill) Nicolai, and great/great nieces, nephews, relatives, cousins and dear friends. Family will receive friends on Sunday, June 11, 3-6pm Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave, Cols., OH 43232. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday June 12, 10 am at Holy Cross Chapel Cemetery, 11539 National Rd. S.W., Pataskala, Ohio 43062. Celebrant Father Arnold officiating.
