

J. Richard (Dick) Bull, age 91, lifelong resident of Columbus. Survived by wife of 66 years, Shirley (Austen) Bull; son, Jim (Shirley) Bull, of Danville CA; daughter, Leslie (Bill) Junk of Upper Arlington; grandchildren, Chris (Carey) and Kelly Bull of Danville CA, Steve Junk of Santa Barbara CA and Erin Junk of Chicago IL; sister in law, Janet (Bill) Ternent of Port Orange FL; nephews, John (Debbie) Wiseman, Bob (Beth) Wiseman and Allen (Alison) Ternent and niece, Nancy Wiseman (Karen Graham). Preceded in death by sister, Betty Weigand. Graduate of West High School and The Ohio State University with degree in radio-journalism. Member of Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity. B-24 bomber pilot, 7th Air Force, in World War II.
Retired in 1989 after 36 years from Nationwide Insurance as Vice President of public relations. Served on boards of CAPA, Franklin County United Way, Ballet Met, American Red Cross, Ohio Insurance Institute, various public relations and insurance industry associations.
Member First Community Church, with service as Governing Board member. Member of Couples Circle #20. Charter member of Upper Arlington Rotary Club, member of Scioto Country Club and Ohio State Golf Club. Active in Upper Arlington Civic Association, chaired 1964 July Fourth Parade. Served several terms as member of UA Cultural Arts Commission. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at First Community Church 1320 Cambridge Boulevard, Columbus, OH 43212. Reception to follow in Brownlee Hall.
