I have been looking for Jim for a long time. When Facebook first came out I was sure he would be on it.. I searched every year. I just searched him thru Google and this came up.. I was so saddened to see this. It never entered my mind that he had passed. We worked together for 5 years at Rinks. We were great friends and shared many memories. I still have cassette tapes and drawings Jim made for me. 
I recently loaned my daughter the Trivial Pursuit game Jim got me for Christmas one year. We loved to play those games and we saw many movies together. I was just watching one, The Blues Brothers, and that prompted me to search him again.
I am so sorry to find this information. I wish I could have reconnected with him before he passed. My sincere condolences to the family.

I would like to express my deep sympathy to Jim’s family. Jim and I met through very coincidental circumstances. There was a day it the late 80’s (probably a Monday) that I started a new job at Nibco and later that evening I began a class at Columbus State. Not only did I begin working with Jim at Nibco but he was also in that class and we had the same major. That started a friendship that lasted for several years. Jim did have a competitive spirit and loved to debate which was good for me because it made me think more deeply about my positions on different topics. We had similar tastes in film and music in many ways and would have many discussions about those things. We also attended the Cinevent movie convention in Columbus for several years. I’ll miss Jim.

I'd like to take this opportunity to express my deepest regrets to Jim's family. I wish I could be there to lend my support in this difficult time, but I'm currently in Iraq nearing the end of my 3rd tour of duty. I recently learned of Jim's passing through Tom Stakely, who introduced me to Jim in the late 80's. I was fortunate enough to be accepted by Jim to play softball on his team for several seasons, and as Tom and I were talking, we fondly remembered Jim's fierce competitive drive, and his knowledge of the game. He always wanted to do the right thing for his players; he wanted everyone to play, even if it jeopardized the outcome of the game. I always respected and admired him for that. Jim will be missed immensly. Jim and I meet 30+ years ago and remained in contact even when our lives had taken different paths. I remember the fun we had going to watch freinds play in their band and having card partys or just sitting, talking and laughing. I always loved getting a birthday card from him, even though he reminded me every year that I was the "oldest of the group". He always remember Christmas with a card and once by a CD he put together that my late husband loved and played every year, I will always cherish those memories.  He was a dear freind and I spoke of him often to my family and we would laughed about the funny cards he sent, I will miss him greatly. My thoughts and prayers go out to you family.

I worked with Jim for over 14 years. He was a great guy. I mostly enjoyed playing cards with him and the NIBCO crew in the breakroom during lunch. We also loved to talk about ball cards! He was a fanatic for his cards.
I'll miss Jim.
