

James J. “Jim” Knapp II, died on January 1, 2010 at his residence. He is preceded in death by his father, James J. Knapp. Jim is survived by his mother, Jane Knapp; brother John Knapp and Aunt Thelma Whaley of Galion. He graduated from Westland High School and graduated from Columbus State Community College. He was active in the band playing tuba or sousaphone in the marching band and the orchestra. Jim was also active in the men’s softball league through Grove City Parks and Rec as both a player and a coach for many years. He was employed by NIBCO for 25 years starting in the warehouse and ending up in the office. A movie buff, he loved to watch movies especially science fiction and was a Star Trek fanatic. He collected trading cards, football, basketball and baseball, cast metal replica’s of muscle cars and antiques. Jim was a good son who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, he loved Christmas and cooking and just being at home. A memorial service will be held for Jim on Wednesday January 6, 2010 at 6pm with visitation 1 hour prior to the service at the SCHOEDINGER-NORRIS CHAPEL 3920 Broadway, Grove City.
