

James D. Leach 91, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday morning March 26 at Hickory Creek Nursing Center. Jim was born in Detroit Michigan to Henry and Madge Leach. He graduated Athens High School and then went to Ohio University where he obtained a degree is Business Administration. He served in the US Airforce 1956 to 1959. His long work history includes working at Burroughs where he programmed bank computers Mm , then left to work in the family business Vance Leach furniture in Athens for 17 years. He was very active in his church, spending time ministering to shut ins and sharing the gospel. He leaves a legacy of serving the body of Christ, both in Arizona and Athens.
Jim was fondly remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and as a servant of Christ. His children have many happy memories of Jim, including “A big time’ where they watched movies and ate popcorn together.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his son Patrick. He is survived by his wife Milly, son Michael, daughter Diane(John) Redman and daughter in law Sally, stepchildren Phil(Marilyn)Brinkley, Danny(Candy)Brinkley and Paul(Vickie) Brinkley. Jim leaves grandchildren Samantha Leach, Christine Leach, Jake Redman, Amy Brinkley, Katie Starkweather, Kacie Brinkley, Sara Whittingham. Logan Brinkley, and Jamie Brinkley, as well as eight great grandchildren behind.
A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
