James H. Miller,

James H. Miller Sr., 76 years old, died of a long illness on September 15, 2014. He was the son of the late Henry and Genevieve Miller of Erie, PA. He graduated from Cathedral Preparatory Academy in Erie, PA and went on to serve in the US Marine Corp. He married the love of his life Gloria Dowdell-Miller. They would have been married 49 years this September. He is the beloved father of James H. Miller Jr. (Lois) and Joy Flemming (Curt). His grandchildren Amy, Glorianna, Hannah and Chloe were the light of his life. Jim worked in the housing industry for most of his professional life, first as a realtor and then as a construction supervisor. He served on the Westerville City Council and was instrumental in advocating for bike paths throughout the city. His siblings Patricia Zemanek and Mary Susan Miller preceded him in death. Jim was best known for his zest for life and humorous soul. He enjoyed golf, swimming, dogs and tropical fish. Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, September 19, 2014 at ST. JOAN OF ARC CATHOLIC CHURCH, 10700 S. Liberty Street., Powell, OH 43065, where family will receive friends an hour prior. Father Michael Gentry, Celebrant. Inurnment at Resurrection Cemetery.
