

James (Jim) Morley, age 93 of Upper Arlington passed away peacefully at his home with family on February 3, 2021. Jim was born in Columbus, Ohio on May 19, 1927 to the late Paul E. and Mary E. Morley.
He graduated from Hilliard High School in 1945 before enlisting in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After serving in the Navy, Jim returned to Columbus and received an Associate's Degree in Architectural Drafting from Franklin University. He had a long career in the building business including a partnership with his father (Paul E. Morley and Son) and the founding of his own company (J.A. Morley, Inc.). As a general building contractor, Jim's projects included light commercial, custom residential and remodeling.
Jim lived an extraordinary life with gifts of love, purpose, integrity and devotion. He was preceded in death by his high school sweetheart and wife of 69 years, Ramona (Walker) Morley; his sisters Pauline (Roger) Fahrbach, Marjorie (William) Snouffer and brother Ralph (Shirley) Morley.
Jim was a devoted family man. Family togetherness was one of the greatest gifts he taught. His wit and sense of humor were only surpassed by his love of music. He was always humming or whistling a tune. He played multiple instruments but his true passion in his later years was his participation as a member of the Buckeye State Harmonica Club.
Jim is survived by his children Steve Morley, Marilyn (Dennis) Swanson, Chris (Jill) Morley; grandchildren Erin (Todd) Sesto, Dan Morley, Kristen(Marc) Poland, Amanda Swanson, Lindsey Swanson, Jennifer Morley, Michelle (Keaton) Morris, Colin Morley, Anna Morley; great grandchildren; Mallory Poland, Wesley Poland, Aevan Sesto and Declan Sesto.
Due to Covid 19, a private service will be held for immediate family at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST followed by a graveside service at Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the James Fund for Life at the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center.
