

James Edward Neff, Sr., "Strohs", age 78, of Columbus, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 9, 2015. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on April 18, 1937 to the late George Walter and Virginia Lavesta Neff. Jim served in the United States Navy and was active during the Berlin Crisis. He was a longtime member of St. Agnes Catholic Church. Jim was 42 years sober and a very active member of AA. He enjoyed watching old movies and westerns, bowling, and was an avid fan of The OSU Buckeyes. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kimberly Neff; and sister, Barbara McPherson. Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Corlyn Neff; children, James (Bev) Neff, Jr., Christine (David) Sims, William Neff, Thomas (Gina) Neff, and Elizabeth (Mike) Daugherty; 21 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brother, George (Raine) Walter Neff III; and many nieces and nephews. Special thank you to the Zangmeister Center and National Church Residences Hospice for all of their care. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015 from 2:00PM-4:00PM and 6:00PM-8:00PM with Rosary service at 3:30PM at the SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 10:00AM at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 2364 Mound Street, Columbus, Ohio. Fr. Ronald Aubry, Celebrant. Interment with military honors will be held at Green Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in his memory.
