

James Davis Roehm, age 89, of Columbus, passed away Monday, January 12, 2015 in Columbus, Ohio at Westminster Thurber Community. He was born December 31, 1925 in Dayton, OH to the late Ralph and Jean Roehm.
He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and graduated from The Ohio State University in 1951 in Electrical Engineering. On June 9, 1951 he married Evalyn Janice Piper. James worked most of his career at Jeffrey Manufacturing Company. He was a member of First Congregational Church and a member of the choir for 47 years. He was also a "singing" member of The Columbus Maennerchor for many years.
His hobbies included stamp collecting, player piano restoration and travel. He traveled to Europe, India and South Africa and had participated in several Elderhostel trips around the world. James was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evalyn, in 2005, and sister, Carol Roehm, in 2013. James will be missed by his loving children, Robert "Bob" Roehm, Nancy Roehm D'Souza (Jude); and grandchildren, Rebecca, Josiah and Raj D'Souza.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at First Congregational Church, 444 E. Broad St., Columbus, Rev. Tim Ahrens, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in James' memory to the Alzheimer's Association Central OH Chapter, 1379 Dublin Rd., Columbus, OH 43215.
