James Roger Southall

James Roger Southall, age 76, of Columbus, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on January 10, 2013. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on August 20, 1936 to the late Albert and Elizabeth (Thompson) Southall. He was a 1954 graduate of Linden McKinley High School where he held many basketball records. James was the owner of Jim's Blacktop Sealing. He was devoted to his family and was a very loving and giving man. He was generous and kind hearted and loved to tease. He was a man loved by all who knew him. Jim is survived by his loving wife, of 55 years, Karen, sons, James (Julia) Southall Jr., and Kevin (Jackie) Southall; daughter, Lisa Capuano; grandsons, Jeremy (Kiesha), Chuckie, Jason, Frank; granddaughter, Rachel; great-granddaughter, Tayleigh; brothers, Richard Southall, Ronald (Donna) Southall; sister, Sharon (Ted) Puchovich; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Jack Southall and sister, Wanda Sutton. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday, January 14, 2013 at the Schoedinger North Chapel, 5554 Karl Rd., Columbus, OH where funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10 AM.
