James J. Walsh

James J. Walsh, age 74, of Westerville, Ohio died June 12, 2011. Jim was born September 15, 1936 in Columbus, Ohio to the late James J. and Ethel M. Walsh. He graduated from St. Charles Preparatory School, class of 1954 and The Ohio State University, class of 1958 and served in the U.S. Army. He passed away peacefully in his sleep at his daughter’s home with his family at his side. He was a founding member and former President of the Licking County Soccer Officials Association. He enjoyed his time with his friends at Am Vets Post 89 and Eagles Linden Fraternal Order Aerie 2252. Jim is survived by his wife, Sara Rowe Walsh of Westerville; his daughter, Sara L. Walsh and her husband Curt Knapp of Westerville; granddaughter, Alexandria “Alex”; and step-grandson, Matt. He is also survived by his only sister, Joan Spohn of Brecksville, Ohio; sister-in-law, Suzette Walker of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Jim’s life will be held in July. Please contact the family for additional details.
