

Jane Jacobs aka "The Bookmobile Lady", age 83, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Berger Hospital. She was born April 7, 1935 in Williamsport, OH to the late Kenneth and Ethel (Bloomfield) Jacobs. Jane retired from the Pickaway County Library after 32 dedicated years as the Bookmobile driver. After retirement Jane was blessed to become a babysitter for many children that she treasured so much. Jane was a member of the Morris Chapel Church and Living by Faith Ministries. She was an ovarian cancer survivor, but her toughest battle would come later when she developed Alzheimer's disease. Jane will be dearly missed by those she cared for and who's lives she touched.
In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her sisters, Carolyn Jacobs, Gloria VanGundy and Joanne VanGundy; brother, Ronald Jacobs and nephew Jeff VanGundy. She is survived by her sister, Marilyn (Joe) Norris; sister-in-law, Carol Bliss and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her special family, Vicki (Don) Hamilton, The Patterson's: Teresa, Briley, Presley, Olivia and Savannah; Jennifer Hamilton and Chad, MaKenna, Aidan, and Noah Hamilton.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 5, 2018 from 11-1 PM at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home, 151 E Main St., Circleville where a funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM. Pastor Robert Henry will be officiating and burial will follow at New Holland Cemetery.
Thank you to those that helped with caring for Jane especially Jennifer who became her legal guardian and her in-home caregivers Vicki and Marcella. A very special thank you to Olivia for making Jane feel extra special by doing her makeup, hair and nails and for always keeping her stocked up with snacks! Also, thank you to those select employees and residents of Logan Elm Health Care that shared an extra special bond with Jane and held her near and dear to their hearts. Lastly, to her Living by Faith Family for their continued prayers, many visits and support throughout her journey.
