Janet Elaine Rettstatt

Janet Rettstatt, born February 8, 1940 in Wauseon, Ohio, went home to meet her Savior, Jesus Christ, from the Kobacker House Monday morning August 19th, 2013. Janet was loved by many including her devoted husband Harold, son John (Tracy Burby) their children John, Jacob, Audrey, and Bridgette; son Doug (Abby Winkler) their children Luke, Shirley, Mark, David, Tommy, and Annie; and son Jeff (Cheri Sowards) and their children Michael, Cole, and Lily; daughter Jennifer Hartshorn (Todd) their children Haleigh, Payton, and Thad; sister Marcia Seibel Rohrs (Dan), brother Bill Seibel (Jerilyn Rogers), and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives. Janet was preceded in death by her parents John and Amy Seibel.

Janet was a devoted Christian wife and mother. She worked as a teacher in the Columbus and Gahanna-Jefferson School Districts for a number of years, but her true passion was studying the Bible and ministering to others through friendship and discipleship. She has been a member of the Grace Brethren Church for the past 40 years. She was a long-time discussion leader for Bible Study Fellowship and the Grace Brethren's Tapestry ministry for women. She was an avid gardener and cultivated beauty in every area of her life. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Friday at Grace Brethren Church, 8225 Worthington Galena Rd., Westerville. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M.
