

Jay Woodward, age 90, of Pickerington, Ohio formerly of Reynoldsburg, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. He was founder of Woodward Excavating Company in 1962. His wife of 56 years, Greta Woodward, passed away in 2006. He is survived by his sons, Kirk (Sally) Woodward, Brad (Peggy) Woodward and Clay (Theresa) Woodward; grandchildren, Jay (Nichole), Jeff (Christy) Jacqueline (Thomas), Zach, Justin, Miranda (Andrei), Alex, Austin, Callie, Clay II and Faith; step-grandchildren Shaun and Bradley; 12 great-grandchildren. He was a member of Capital City Masonic Lodge #656 for 65 years, Valley of Columbus Scottish Rite and Shriners for 53 years. He instilled good work ethics in his family and employees and thought of his employees as family. He enjoyed his last years with family and friends and was a champion to the very end. Family will welcome friends 2-4 and 6-8pm (Masonic Service at 7:30pm) Thursday, September 20, 2018 in the Bauserman Chapel located within Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church, 1636 Graham Rd., Reynoldsburg, OH 43068 where his funeral service will be held at 11am Friday (additional visiting 10-11am); interment to follow at Glen Rest Memorial Estate; Pastor Bob Mathias, officiating.
