

Jean E. MacLean, age 89, passed away October 5th at home. Born on June 24, 1926, to Edna Hayes Reed and James Clyde Reed, she was raised in Wellsville, Ohio. Jean was a wonderful homemaker for most of her life, working for a short time at the former Farm Bureau and later at Belair's Fine Furniture. She loved to knit, do needlework, and was a voracious reader. Family gatherings, with all of her children and grandchildren, made her the happiest.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jack; brothers, Joseph Clark Reed, Robert Hayes Reed, George Wesley Reed and sisters, Ethel Frances Caruso and Mary Jane Sutton. She will be missed by her children, Mary-Jo (Dennis) Maughan, Jon R. (Frances) MacLean, and Melanie (Robert) Gigliotti. She was a fun-loving and wonderful grandmother to 10 grandchildren, Marianne MacLean, Elizabeth (Seth) Hanft, David (Erin) MacLean, Michael MacLean, Grace MacLean, Gloria MacLean, Chris and Kelly Maughan, and Geoffrey and Maria Gigliotti; and one great-grandchild, Abigail MacLean. All were the light of her life. The family would like to thank Dr. Terrance Castor for his wonderful and attentive care for 35 years, as well as her loving neighbors, Bob and Dolores Surtman.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Central College Presbyterian Church, Ballard Hall, 975 S. Sunbury Rd., Westerville, OH 43081 from 10 - 11am, with a Memorial Service at 11am at the Church Chapel. Pastor Malcolm Davis officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Central College Presbyterian Church Chapel Pipe Organ Fund. Family has entrusted SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL with final arrangements.
