Jeanette G Hughes

Jeanette G. Hughes, age 86, of Gahanna, died Sunday, December 20, 2009 at Mount Carmel East Hospital. She was born May 5, 1923 in Columbus, daughter of the late Fred and Elsie (Schweitzer) Gygi. She retired as a bank teller with Buckeye Federal Savings & Loan following many years of service. Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred A. Hughes Jr., in 1968 and sister, Helen Gygi in 2007. A loving and devoted mother and sister, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Sheila Hughes, of Mt. Vernon, OH; sister and brother-in-law, Esther and Robert Watts, Columbus, OH and many wonderful friends. Jeanette was a 50 year member and past Matron of Lorraine Chapter # 1, O.E.S. and a member and past High Priestess of Thea Court # 5, Ladies Oriental Shrine. She was a member of Gahanna and Buckeye Lake Historical Society’s and a member of St. John’s Evangelical Protestant Church. Jeanette enjoyed spending time with her family at Buckeye Lake and being an avid Ohio State fan. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 East Johnstown Road, Gahanna, where funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2009. Rev.
