Jeanne A. (Easton) Johnson passed away Nov. 2, 2022, at age 91. Jeanne, a lifelong resident of Columbus, Ohio, was the daughter of William and Dolores Easton. She attended University High School and spent many happy years growing up on Kimball Place with neighbors who would become lifelong friends. She met her future husband, John, at a church dance and they married in 1955. They were married 67 years and he survives her. She is also survived by her children, Chris Johnson, of Columbus; Holly Pupino (Sam), of Fairlawn; and grandchildren, Alyssa Pupino, of Columbus; Nicole Pupino, of Akron; and Nick Pupino, of Cleveland. Jeanne enjoyed spending time in her backyard garden in the spring, soaking up the sun in the summer, cheering on her Ohio State Buckeyes in the fall. However, she preferred to experience winter through the window while in the comfort of her favorite living room chair. She loved all things sweet, especially a delightful cookie, piece of strawberry rhubarb pie or apple dumpling with a hot cup of coffee. Jeanne and John often enjoyed outings to Hocking Hills and New Year’s Eve celebrations with dear friends, hosting decades of John’s poker club parties, and get-togethers with extended Easton and Huckleberry family members. Whether it was in the grocery store or at Lazarus, Jeanne was the ultimate shopper! Above all, Jeanne was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She put great thought into every gift and greeting card she purchased for loved ones and her lauded mashed potato recipe made every holiday dinner special. She supported her children in all of their endeavors and, with her daily reading of both the Columbus Citizen-Journal and Columbus Dispatch, inspired them to both study journalism and stay engaged in current affairs. She found the ultimate joy when she became a grandmother more than 30 years ago. She cheered on Alyssa, Nicole and Nick at soccer games, band concerts, and cross country meets and celebrated each and every milestone. She got to see them grow into adulthood and they brought her joy up to her final days. She will forever be in our hearts. A celebration of life service is planned for family on November 12, 2022. Arrangements Entrusted to SCHOEDINGER EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5360 E. Livingston Avenue, Columbus, OH 43232.
