Jeannette Elizabeth (Heasley) McCarthy

Jeannette Elizabeth (Heasley) McCarthy, 87, of Clintonville, went to rest in peace on Wednesday, January 4, 2012. She was born June 2, 1924 in Columbus to the late Arthur and Genevieve Heasley, and was a lifelong Clintonville resident.

Jeannette attended Immaculate Conception grade school, was a 1942 graduate of St. Mary’s of the Springs, and received her teaching certificate from OSU. Jeannette was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception where she was very active. She held memberships with the OSU Alumni Association, Clintonville Women’s Club, Daughter’s of Erin, Dominican Sister’s of Peace, IC women’s bowling league, and DCSC Golf Club. Jeannette was an OSU and DCSC golfing champion.

Preceded in death by her husband, Charles Joseph McCarthy; brother, Charles Heasley; and dear friend, John Winters. Jeannette will be missed by her loving children, Karen (Kent) Woodard, Craig (Brenda), Colleen, Kevin (Mary), K.C. (Devon), Sean (Jennifer); Patrick (Maureen); and Kit McCarthy; grandchildren, Ryan, Tammy, Jamie, Barbara, Brennan, Garrison, Erin, Megan, Charlie, and Michael; 9 great-grandchildren; and brother, Robert R. Heasley and family. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:15 a.m. Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 414 E. N. Broadway, Columbus, Msgr. Stephan Moloney, Celebrant.
