Jeffrey Neil Long

Jeffrey N. Long, age 50 of Hilliard, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2018. Jeff was born in Cambridge, Ohio and grew up in Senecaville, Ohio, son of Larry and Wanda Long. Jeff graduated from Meadowbrook High School, Class of 1985, where he played trombone in the marching band. Following high school, Jeff graduated from The Ohio State University and was a member of ROTC and the Triangle Fraternity. He worked as an IT Consultant throughout his career at many companies including Nationwide, Agile Technologies, and was currently working at Majesco. He was a proud member of the NRA and the Academy of Model Aeronautics. Jeff was a loving, kind, thoughtful, and giving man who had a great sense of humor. He was witty, clever, and made friends wherever he went. He enjoyed traveling, movies, camping, flying drones and remote airplanes and helicopters, and Dungeons and Dragons. Big Hill was his home away from home. Most of all, Jeff loved seeing those he cared about be happy. He will be deeply missed by all. He is survived by his loving wife, Michelle Long; children, Sara and Ethan Long, Courtney (Josh) Wegman, and Jordan (Charlie) Silcott; grandson, Elliot Mitton; parents, Larry and Wanda Long; brothers, Randy Long, Dan (Shana) Long, and Robin (Melissa) Long; sister and brother-in-law, Kim (Bill) Lind; and aunts, uncles, cousins, and many other extended family members and dear friends. Funeral service will be held at 3 P.M. Sunday, July 22, 2018 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., where family will receive friends from 2-6 P.M. Saturday.
