Jeffrey James Parent

Jeffrey James Parent, age 52 of New Albany, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2012. Jeff was born and raised in Columbus, son of the late Lionel and Alice Parent. He is also preceded in death by his nephew, Nicholas Parent. Jeff graduated from Hamilton Township High School, Class of 1977 and then went on to graduate from Ohio Dominican College, Class of 1981. Throughout Jeff’s career, he worked in the insurance industry and most currently had been working for Nations Health, Gahanna. Jeff was truly a great all around athlete and had the ability to play any sport easily. He enjoyed playing, watching, and following many sports, but most of all, his interest fell on baseball. He coached numerous youth teams and had many great memories of happy times at Angels Stadium watching his favorite team, The L.A. Angels. Most of all, Jeff enjoyed the time spent together with his family. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife and college sweetheart, Lori Parent; sons who he was most proud of, Mark and Brett Parent; siblings, John (Carla) and David (Janet) Parent and Maryanne (Butch) Starrett; nieces and nephew, Allison, Michael, and Angie Parent; and countless other dear friends, past teammates, and colleagues. Funeral services will be held at 9 A.M. Saturday, January 28, 2012 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., where family will receive friends from 4-8 P.M. Friday.
