

Jerome J. Cunningham, MD, age 84, died on Friday, January 19, 2024. Dr. Cunningham received his B.S. (Chemistry) with honors and M.D. from the University of Florida. He served two years in the U.S. Navy. He met his wife, Margaret, while training in Diagnostic Radiology at Stanford University where he was a National Institutes of Health Fellow and Chief Resident. He was appointed Assistant Professor of Radiology at Wake Forest University, and later taught and did research at the University of Rochester and the Medical College of Georgia. He retired after serving 17 years as Professor of Radiology at Ohio State University.
Dr. Cunningham was a life master bridge player. After retirement, he became an avid volunteer in the Columbus community serving on two committees for the Columbus Foundation. He received volunteer awards from The Ohio State University Medical Center, WOSU Public Media, and The Nature Conservancy. He spent many hours volunteering at the Capital Area Humane Society.
