Jerry Postle was born January 27th, 1927 on the hilltop in Columbus, Ohio. He was married to his sweetheart Audrey Rinehart for 54 years. Jerry is a World War II veteran where he served as a naval aviation radio operator. After the war, Jerry learned the skill of making alterations and eventually became the alterations manager for the clothing store, The Union, where he had the opportunity to befriend folks from many different cultures and ethnicities. This gave him an appreciation of people and had a large impact on his life.
Jerry leaves a legacy of love… He and Audrey raised two sons John and Jeffrey. Together, they shared their love of national parks, theatre, music, and Jesus with their sons, their five grandkids, and their families. Jerry and Audrey enjoyed square-dancing, traveling, and spending quality time with family. After Audrey’s death, Jerry was blessed to find another special lady in Ann Wheeler. Through their marriage, Jerry inherited five more children and their families! Jerry and Ann were married for nine years before Ann’s passing.
In recent years living at Friendship Village in Dublin, Jerry enjoyed reading, Bible study, playing cards with friends, and watching his beloved Buckeyes, Browns, and Indians. His family and friends consider him a gift, an inspiration, and a true role model of what it looks like to love others well in this life.
Celebration of life services will be held at his home church NW United Methodist on Friday, January 19th with visitation starting at 9:30AM and funeral service begin at 10:30AM. Burial to follow at Sunset Cemetery.
