Joan Gallaher Hinton, a long-time resident of Columbus, Ohio, died Sunday, January 24th, preceded in death by her dear husband, Loren Hinton and her parents, Margaret and Carl Gallaher of Lebanon. Joan grew up in Lebanon, Ohio, and graduated from The Ohio State University. She was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. Joan taught 31 years in the Columbus Public Schools. She was a member of The Ohio State University Golf Club and Heritage Golf Club. She was longtime a member of Advent Lutheran Church. Joan was a huge fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes football team. She traveled to many bowl games. Joan enjoyed her winters in Arizona for 25 years, visiting with the many friends she made there. She is survived by her dear friend, Baz Yioulos, and many lifelong friends in the Columbus area. A celebration of her life will be held at Advent Lutheran Church, 3660 Kenny Road, Columbus, Ohio at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2016. Arrangements entrusted to SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL.
