Joan loved building delightful and enduring relationships. She dated a boy named Dale King at North High School in Columbus and they graduated in 1947. As a Tri Delta she continued dating Beta Dale and they graduated from Ohio State University in 1951. Dale joined the Counter Intelligence Corps for two years during the Korean Conflict and Joan was a kindergarten teacher for 2 years.
In 1953 they married and began a fun, loving, and shared adventure together for 46 years. Three sons and seven cities … each with new lifelong friends and lasting memories included.
10 days before her passing she entertained her sons Dan and Glen and daughter-in-law Maggie with lunch in her beautiful assisted-living apartment. With her well known smile and “face on” (must have make-up!), wearing her favorite purple sweater and necklace she happily and with great satisfaction declared with confidence and delight “I had a wonderful life.”
A Hallmark movie could not have done it any better!
