Joan Jane (Dawson) Wilson

Joan Jane (Dawson) Wilson, 78, of Circleville, Ohio, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 9, 2011 surrounded by her family, at Pickaway Manor following an extended illness. She was born October 5, 1932 in Circleville, Ohio to the late Richard and Lenora Dawson. She was married to Kenneth Wilson, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Kendall and Richard Dawson and two sisters, Janeen and Mavorneen Dawson. She is survived by daughter Chrystil J. Jenkins, of Chillicothe, Ohio; two grandsons, Benjamin Jenkins of Beaver Creek, Ohio and Andrew Jenkins of Chillicothe, Ohio; one brother, John “Hap” (Nancy) Happenny of Circleville; sisters, Candace “Candy” (Randy) Arledge of Circleville and Mona (Larry) Parks of Lucasville, Ohio; 15 nieces/nephews and numerous great nieces/nephews and friends; and a special thank you to Ed Withers, Janet Herron and Mona Clifton, who were always willing to lend a helping hand. Joan was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and retired from the Salvation Army as store manager for over 25 years. She will be remembered as a hard-working woman who liked to make people laugh. Funeral Services will be held at the Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home, 151 E. Main St., Circleville, Ohio, on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 11am where friends may call 4-7pm Tuesday and one hour before services; interment Floral Hills Cemetery; Pastor Larry Parks and Pastor Clay Burdette, officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Berger Hospital Hospice, 1170 N. Court St., Suite B, Circleville, OH 43113.
