Joann Dixon "Dixie" Quilligan

Joann Dixon “Dixie” Quilligan, 84, of Columbus, Ohio and Scottsdale, Arizona passed away peacefully on Monday, October 13, 2014. Joann was born in Bellevue, Ohio on June 18, 1930 to Harley and Hazel (Mincks) Dixon. She attended North High School and graduated from the Ohio State University where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. Joann married Donald Robert Quilligan on October 14, 1952. Family and friends were Joann’s passion and delight. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother. Joann was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters Jean Bazler and Betty Schneider. She is survived by her daughters, Karen Parks and Tracey (Jeffrey) Hartman, as well as grandchildren Ashley, Rick, Grant, Lauren, and Rachel. A Celebration of Life service will be held in Joann’s honor at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road, on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 3:00 pm where family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until the time of service. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to The James Cancer Hospital, online or check payable to “OSU Foundation” mailed to: Office of Development, 660 Ackerman Rd., PO Box 183112, Columbus, Ohio, 43218.
