Joe L. Baca

Joe L. Baca, age 78, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2011. He was born in Fort Sumner, New Mexico, on June 3, 1933, and he served our country in the US Army. Joe earned a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting from Bliss College. In 1963, he and his business partner, Harry Denune, started Dixie International Company. He was a member of St. Matthias Catholic Church, the Riviera Golf Club, Knights of Columbus 3727, and American Legion Post #0888. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters. Joe is survived by his wife of 55 years, Bringfriede “Friedel” Baca; sons, Joseph (Ann) Baca and John Baca; sister, Alice Vigil; brother, Philip Baca; granddaughters, Alayna and Alyssa; and many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, July 15, 2011, at the SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 1582 Ferris Road, Columbus, Ohio 43224. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
