

Joe L. Valdez, age 66, of Westerville, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2013. Joe was a supervisor for General Electric for more than 30 years and a U. S. Air Force Veteran, as well as a member of the American Legion and Blendon Lodge #339 F & AM. Joe’s passions included playing and coaching softball and volleyball, restoring and showing Ford Mustangs, and spending quality time with his grandchildren. Joe was a strong-willed, loving man who would do anything for his family and friends. Joe is preceded in death by his parents, N.C. Valdez, Sr. and Olivia Valdez of Texas and his sisters-in-law, Mildred Moore, Sarah Scheidegger, Lillian Sites, and Carol McKibben. Joe is survived by his wife of 27 years, Lois; grandchildren, Tony, Justin, and Olivia; daughters, Alison and Jennifer Nicole; siblings, Nasario (Ligia) Valdez, Jr., Ronnie (Gwen) Valdez, Debra Mattix, and Judy(Richard) Flowers; sisters-in-law, Thelma Mauger, Dorothy Davis, Evelyn (Howard) Worrel, Donna (Denny) Keller, Glenna Young, and Karen Boyer; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2013 at Central College Presbyterian Church, 975 S. Sunbury Road, Westerville, Ohio 43081; arrangements by Schoedinger Linden Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, or American Kidney Foundation in his memory. To coin a Joe L. Valdez phrase, “That ain’t right!”; Joe, you will be dearly missed and always loved!
