

John Theodore Burkhart, 95, of Orient, Ohio passed away November 18, 2009. He was born January 17, 1914 in Woodsfield, Ohio to the late Michael and Olivia Burkhart. John is preceded in death by his wife, Dolly; 1 sister and 3 brothers. John is survived by his sons, John (Eileen) Burkhart, James (Barbara Adams) Burkhart; 6 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 3 great, great-grandchildren. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, Retired Officers Association, US Horse Calvary Association, 4th Calvary Association, DSCC Officers Club and a member of the V.F.W. Post in Harrisburg. Captain John T. Burkhart was in Company F, 4th Calvary Group, 90 Infantry Division during World War II Battle of the Bulge. John was awarded a Purple Heart among many other awards and medals. John enjoyed gardening and being outdoors fishing or feeding the birds. John mostly loved spending time with his family. Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00AM Monday, November 23, 2009 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church 3730 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio. Rev.
