John is survived by his vivacious and loving wife of 58 years, Joanne (Porter) Cook; his 8 children (who he loved with his whole heart), Johnny (Jennifer), Veronica (Steve) Daw, Jason, Joey, Emily, Annie, Julie, and Stanley; as well as his 7 adoring grandchildren, Rachel, David, Rebekah, Sarah, "Trip," Annette, and Benny; brother, Dennis Cook, also, a special family friend, Rosie. He is preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Verna Cook, and brother, Richard Cook.
In addition to John proudly serving his country as a former U.S. Navy man, he was passionate about many things. He loved music; especially Big Band. He was also a fan of going to an amusement park, where he would sit and listen to carousel music all day. Breakfast was his favorite meal of the day; one that he often shared on a regular basis with his youngest son, Stanley. John was an avid sports fan, too. He loved the Indians, and above all other things, the BROWNS! He had a passion for writing, and was always writing prayers of healing, he even wrote novels that were unpublished.
John had a heart of gold and was a great defender of all those he loved. Family and friends are welcome for a visitation on Monday, October 18, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with a Funeral Service commencing at 12:00, at SCHOEDINGER EAST, 5360 E.
