

John "Jack" Corso, 81, of Galena, passed away on January 24, 2021. He was born in Cleveland OH on October 7, 1939 to the late John W. Corso and Marion Dunn Sivertsen. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister, Sue Cendrowski.
Jack was a 1957 graduate of LaSalle Academy and attended Cleveland State University, where he obtained his bachelor's degree and later his master's degree in theoretical mathematics. While obtaining his master's degree he taught classes at Cleveland State University. Following college, John spent the majority of his career working for Bank One which is now known as Chase Bank as the Director of Financial Card Services. He retired from Chase Bank in 2001.
In his free time Jack loved to golf and would often go golfing with his son Drew and his grandson Enzo. He was also a baseball fan and would always be found rooting for the Cleveland Indians. He will always be remembered as a very intellectual person who truly cared for his family.
Jack will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 57 years, Marjorie Corso; children, John (Linda) Corso, Drew (Penny) Corso, and Sandy (Michael) Swicegood; grandchildren, Dawn and Enzo Corso, and Katie and Gabe Swicegood; great-grandchild, Jacob Hargrove; sisters, Judith Douglas and Diane (Alan) Shapiro; and his brother, Richard (Char) Corso, Nick (Karen) Marino; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
At this time, no service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack's memory may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
