John Dorsey, 86, of Columbus, Ohio passed away on November 20, 2025. He was born in Columbus on October 9, 1939. He is preceded in death by his father Paul Dorsey, mother Virginia (McKeown) Dorsey, and sister Beverly Sines.
He is survived by his children, Ken Dorsey, Mike Dorsey (Kim), and Julie Dorsey; grandson, Dean; and niece, Tracey. John was a graduate of Miami University, and a veteran of the US Army. He had a long career working in the financial industry, starting at BancOhio and retiring from ASI (American Share Insurance) where he established many relationships at credit unions around the country. John was an avid fisherman. He especially enjoyed fishing on Lake Erie, as well as in Homosassa, Florida every winter, and at Kaby Lodge in Ontario, Canada every summer. When he wasn’t on a fishing trip John could be found amongst friends at Windward Passage, Coaches, and Gallo’s Tap Room.
To celebrate John’s life, in accordance with his wishes, next time you’re with friends tap a glass in his memory. The family prefers to not receive flowers.
