

John T. Finn, Jr., 88, of Ashville, Ohio and Mission, Texas, died May 11, 2018 after a short illness. John, also known as Jack, was born December 8, 1929 in New Brunswick, N.J. to the late John and Beatrice Finn, Sr. While living in New Jersey, he followed his father's footsteps as a projectionist for the State Theatre in New Brunswick. He also worked as a typesetter for a printing company, and in management for Alcan Aluminum. He married Olga Gloria Finn, November 11, 1961 and they travelled extensively in RVs to each of the contiguous United States and many provinces of Canada. They were proud to have hiked the Appalachian Trail. Jack graduated from Moody Theological Seminary in Chicago, IL and became a Deacon while attending Christian Fellowship Church of Livingston Park, N,J.
They moved to Liberty, Mo. where he worked for the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, as well as William Jewell College in Liberty. Gloria died unexpectedly Sept. 22, 1993. Retirement led Jack to southern Texas where he made his home with friends from all over North America. He relocated to Ashville in 2014 to be closer to family and attended First Baptist Church of Ashville. There he found caring friends and wonderful potlucks. Besides his parents and wife, Jack was preceded in death by his sister, Marie Finn, and sister and brother-in-law, C. Jean and William Nemes. He is survived by his niece, Marie Nemes (David) Crawford, nephew, William (Kathryn) Nemes II, and dear friends including Linda and Kenny Smith. Burial will be in Glenridge Cemetery in Liberty, MO. A celebration of life will take place later in Mission. Memorial contributions can be made to Pickaway Hands for Disabled, 210 Lancaster Pike, Circleville, OH 43113. Funeral arrangements were completed by Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home in Circleville, Ohio.
