John W. Grove

John W. Grove, Jr., 74, passed way February 5, 2010. He was born April 1, 1935 in Lancaster, Ohio to the late John and Wortha Grove. He is also preceded in death by his loving wife of 26 years, Carolyn. John is survived by his children, Donna (Mel) Poeppelmeyer, Debbie (Don) Quelette, Jeff (Julia) Roth; grandchildren, Donielle (Mark) Semp, Christopher Quelette, Derek Quelette, Anna (Shawn) Burns, Jennifer (John) Newsome, Christy (Arthur) Reyes, Summer Roth, Brittany Roth, Justin Stueve; great-grandchildren, Sean, Madison, Haley, Ryan, Dennis, Paulina, Hannah, Gavin, John, Violet, Jasmine, Skylar; brother, Lee “Uncle Punk” (Linda) Grove; nephew and nieces, Rick Cosgray, Chrissi Cosgray, Hallie (Stephen) Shopdell, Debbie McNichols; great nieces and nephews, Richard Cosgray, Jenny Cosgray, Stephanie Christie, Bobbie Christie; very dear friend, Nancy McNichols and beloved cat, Miss Kitty. John was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Tampa, FL where he and his wife Carolyn were very active volunteering on various activities. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps, proudly serving his country during the Korean War. John enjoyed all sports but especially Ohio State Buckeye football. He worked as an usher for many years watching his favorite Buckeye team. John loved gardening and took great pride in his fragrant roses. John’s main passion was his family and spending time being a husband, dad, grandpa, uncle and friend. A Memorial Service will be held 7:00PM Friday, February 12, 2010 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL. 5554 Karl RD. where the family will receive friends from 6:00PM until time of service.
