John Tyler Healy, 29, Dublin, Ohio, passed away Friday, March 29, 2013 at Grant Hospital, due to multiple complications. Tyler had medical issues his entire life, yet continually showed strength, tenacity and humor in the face of pain that would have long defeated many of us.
Tyler was born on December 28, 1983 to Eileen Healy Ryan. Raised his first 10 years in a family of love lead by his mother, Eileen, and supported by her parents, James and Margaret Healy. He grew up down the street to his close cousins, Adam and Sean Smith. In 1996, Eileen married Douglas Ryan and Tyler immediately joined the new family. Tyler graduated from Bishop Watterson High School in 2002. He continued his education at Columbus State, Franklin University, and ITT Technical.
Tyler made friends with almost everyone he met. He was a constant proponent of all things Ohio State Buckeyes. Tyler was a collector (some would lovingly say an obsessed collector) of many things over his years from stuffed animals as a kid, to National Geographic’s as a teen, to modern Hollywood movies as an adult.
Tyler is survived by his parents, Eileen and Doug Ryan (Dublin, Ohio) and his brother, Graham Ryan; His Aunt Mary Smith (Jerry) of Upper Arlington, and their sons, Adam and Sean; His Uncle Mike Healy (Tracy) of Dublin, Ohio, and their daughter, Caydn; His Uncle Dennis Healy (Lisa) of Dublin, Ohio and their sons, Jeffrey and Jacob.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, James “Bud” Healy (2009) and Margaret “Marge” Healy (2013) who showered him with direction, love and support. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road, where his Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 3, 2013. Our Funeral Celebrant will be Andrew Hoover. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation 2800 Corporate Exchange Drive Columbus, OH 43231 in his memory. Please visit www.schoedinger.com to share a memory, send a photo or extend a condolence to Tyler’s family.
