

John W. Hill, age 92, passed away March 1, 2018 in Naples, Florida. He was born July 31, 1925 to the late Harold B. and Mary Finch Hill. He served in the United States Army having fought in Europe during WWII and also served during the Korean War. He was a Graduate of Ohio State University and Capital Law School. John served for 22 yrs as Judge for Franklin County, Court of Common Pleas, Domestic Relations and Juvenile Division. He co-founded and was Chairman of Ohio Steel Industries. John was a founding partner in the law firm Hill and DeWeese. Although he was very proud of his legal career, as well as his many business accomplishments, his greatest dedication was to his family. His love and adoration will be greatly missed by all. John was a member of Neoacacia Masonic Lodge 595 FandAM, 33 Degree member of Valley of Columbus Scottish Rite and Aladdin Shrine. He was also a member of Brookside Country Club, Worthington Hills Country Club and Imperial Golf Club in Naples. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Harold B. Hill Jr and sister, Ruth Hartner. John is survived by his loving wife, Connie; children, Judy Umeck, Debbie Houser and John W. "Jack" Hill Jr (Kari); grandchildren, April Ruffing (Mike), Kari Henneke (Marc), Alaina Umeck (Zeke), Douglas W. Hill and Bryan W. Hill; great grandchildren, Stephanie, Jessica, Ashley and Mark Ruffing, Katie, Olivia and Sarah Henneke and Roman W. Hill. Visiting hours will be Thursday 1-3 and 6-8 at the SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL 6699 N. High St. (1/2 mile south of 270). A funeral service will be held 10:00am Friday at WORTHINGTON UNITED METHODIST CHURCH 600 High Street, Worthington, Ohio. Interment to follow at Union Cemetery.
