

John Alexander Humphrey, 56, of Grove City, died Tuesday, January 17, 2012. He was born July 8, 1955 in Columbus to the late Eugene and Marilyn (Taylor) Humphrey. He attended Central High School, Columbus State and Franklin University. He received a Bachelor in Electronics and retired from ABB. He competed in Arizona and received an award for a talk he gave on Ethics in Engineering. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Helmsman aboard a nuclear submarine. In his early years he was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church. He was a member of the Shamrock Club and was deeply interested in geneology. He researched Scottish and Irish backgrounds and visited family in Nova Scotia in 2011. He was much loved and will be missed by his loving wife Glenda of twenty years and bassett Barnaby. He is preceded in death by a sister-in-law Lina. He is survived by three brothers James (Lynn), Jeff and Jerry (Dana), nieces, nephews, cousins, friends at Mount Carmel and Ed and Shirley Linser. Family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 PM at SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:30 AM at St. Agnes Catholic Church by Father Homer Blubaugh. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
