On the wings of angels my spirit soars into the arms of my heavenly father, John A. Hutchison, age 91, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2010. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Jean. John could say hello in many languages and could tell jokes in some. They were married more than 55 years. His Christian faith was ever present. John was preceded in death by his wife, Jean; and son, Fred. He is survived by daughter, Leila and her husband, Byron Leidtke, DDS; grandson, Morgan and his wife, Julie; great grandkids, Conner and Autumn; granddaughter, Amy and her partner, Karen; great grandson, Pascal; along with numerous family and friends. John lived his life with vigor, joy and wonder. He never knew a stranger. He served in the USAF as a pilot in WWII and Korea. After the war years, he oversaw photo labs in 5 different air bases; Oklahoma City, OK, Yuma, AZ, Panama City, FL, Phalsbourg, France and Laon, France. He was widely traveled. He was later employed by OSHA for over 10 years as a safety inspector. One of those years he had the most inspections for the state of Ohio. He also flew aerial surveys in the Cleveland area. John was a member and past master of his Masonic lodge. He also belonged and held leadership positions in the Scottish Rite, Heroes of 76, Order of the Eastern Star, Al Koran Shrine, and other fraternal organizations. He was a genealogist for the Ohio Scottish Games and a member of the Bethel Presbyterian Church. John enjoyed telling funny stories, bad puns and singing songs from his days in the service. Dad, we will miss you.
