John D. Reed

John D. Reed, age 90, passed away on May 19th, 2021 in Columbus Ohio. He was born in Van Wert Ohio on July 16th, 1930 to Frances and Bruce Reed. John grew up in Delphos Ohio and always considered it his hometown. A 1948 graduate of Delphos Jefferson High School, John went on to serving his country in the Army at Kelley Barracks, Stuttgart, Germany during the Korean War. John graduated from The Ohio State University in 1958 and was employed by the Columbus and Southern Ohio Electric Company until his retirement in 1986. He was a long-time avid bicyclist. Survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Jane, tandem partner and best pal, children Julie (Mark) Greiner and Max (Amy Zierten) Reed, grandchildren Courtney (David) Kegelmayer, Dustin Greiner (Audrey Horn), Diana (Holden) Moore and Danny (Alexandra) Greiner, great-grandchildren Sailor Claire and Quinn Jane Moore and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his brother Robert Reed and daughter Leila Reed.

Joint visitation to be held Sunday June 13th, 2021 at Brookside Golf and Country Club in Columbus OH from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. No formal services to be held per John's request. In lieu of flowers please make donations to your favorite charity on his behalf.
