

John Thomas Snelling, age 65, passed away at his home on Thursday, December 19, 2013. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on May 22, 1948 to the late Joseph William and Matilda Jean Snelling. A graduate of Brookhaven High School, Class of 1966, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Timken Roller Bearing after 30 years of dedicated service. An active, longtime member of Christ Fellowship United Brethren Church, with a special heart for the church’s food pantry. A loving husband, dad, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Nancy; daughter Wendy Koch; son Thomas (Laura) Snelling; grandchildren MacKenzie (Rian Whitman) Bartlett, Austin Bartlett, Katie and Abby Snelling; great-granddaughter Shiloh Whitman; brother Joseph W. (Pam) Snelling; niece and nephews, J.J. Snelling, Jamie Snelling; Scot (Brandy) Snelling, Kevin (Emily Ferguson); long time friend LeRoy (Linda) Zamora; many other special friends and family members. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon, at Schoedinger Worthington Chapel, 6699 N. High Street in Worthington, where a Funeral Service will be held at 12 Noon. Pastor David Hedrick, officiating. Private family interment, upon completion of cremation, at Kingwood Memorial Park. In honor of the work he did with his Church Food Pantry, we ask that you bring a non-perishable food item as a donation, in lieu of flowers. Please bring your food item to the funeral home on Tuesday, from 10am to 12 Noon.
