

John Wesley Williams passed away March 28, 2017 at the age of 90. He was born December 28, 1926 in Coshocton to the late Thomas and Virginia Williams. John served his country in the Navy during World War II. He played saxophone in the naval band where he had the honor of playing at Franklin D. Roosevelt's funeral. He also played during the surrender of the major Japanese naval base Ominato. After the war he continued playing his saxophone in the Chuck Selby Band at Valley Dale Dance Hall. John graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor's in business; he was the vice president of Graf and Sons for 40 years. John was an avid golfer and member of the OSU golf club for over 60 years. His weekends were reserved for golf, but he also loved playing table tennis and was never known to have passed on a bowl of chocolate ice cream. He was preceded in death by his parents and loving wife, Jennie Lea Williams. He is survived by brother, Tom (Bev) Williams, sister Maryann Ferguson, daughter, Jodee (Brent) Brown; son Jeff (Shelly) Williams; grandchildren John, Jessa, Heather and Layla; great grandchildren Karlea, Myles and one on the way. Visitation will be held at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL 1740 Zollinger Road Upper Arlington 43221 Tuesday April 4, 2017 from 2pm- 4pm and 6pm-8pm with a funeral service Wednesday April 5, 2017 at 10am processing to Union Cemetery.
