Joseph Leon Bowman

Joseph L. Bowman, age 74, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Doctors West Hospital. Joe was born in Ashville, Ohio to the late George and Edith (nee Anderson) Bowman on June 9, 1938. He attended West High School and was a Veteran of the US Army. Joe retired from National Graphics. He is a member of Cypress Wesleyan Church where he loved the Lord and was known to many as the "Candy Man". Joe enjoyed golfing and bowling. He is preceded in death by his wife, Domitila "Tillie" Bowman; son, Jeff Bowman; siblings, Williard and Gerald Bowman, Mary Wagner and Theda Matthews. He is survived by his family that knew him as "Taco Joe". Siblings, Ruth Stoyak, Dave (Sarah) Bowman and Ron (Loretta) Bowman; many nieces and nephews; also friend, Tom Knight and all of his golfing buddies. Visitation will be held 5-8 pm on Monday at SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W. Broad Street. Funeral service will be 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Cypress Wesleyan Church, 377 Alton Darby Creek Rd., Galloway, Ohio 43119 with Pastor Dale George officiating. Interment Alton Cemetery.
