Sadly, it usually isn't until someone is gone that I reflect on the significance of their presence in my life. The San Filippos had a big influence on my life during high school and beyond. Joseph San Filippo was a great man, husband and father. He lived the life we should all try to emulate. Thank you, Mr. San Filippo.

Joe always took time to share with others and was willing to to do what he could to try to help others. I can remember when I was 12 years he was 26 I was playing catch in front of the San Flippo home in Franklin Park and he came up and showed me how to throw a sinker ball. He took 1 hour of his time to show me. I was very excited that my oldest cousin would take such interest in me,My mom (*Patricia Murray ) Joe's Aunt always talked about how proud Joe's Mom was of  him. Because of his unwavering faith and the way he tried to help others. He truly lived a life of Faith and giving and sharing with others. He is a inspiration to me . I have no doubt that Joe has achieved his ultimate goal of eternal life. He was truly a role model for how life should be lived. My families heart goes out to the entire San Flippo family. I know he will be missed terribly.  We are not there with you in  body but we are there in Spirit as your dear Husband Father, Brother, Grandfather,Uncle etc. is.

I worked with Joe at NHP / NW in the early 2000's. I spent many hours talking to Joe while I was fine tuning his laptop to ensure his email and apps worked when he was traveling...He was very proud of his family, showed me many pictures and we swapped travel stories. Joe and I have been best friends since High School. He was always kind and patient and treated me like a brother. I will miss him and keep him in my daily thoughts and prayers.

Joe was the President of Nationwide Health Plans where I worked. He is one of the most prolific leaders I have had during my tenure at Nationwide. He is one of the reasons I am still here after 38 years. I will remember most his Mission Statement that he shared with over 300 of us at our annual meeting. He really made you think. He will be missed by family, friends and co-workers. Another angel made is in heaven.

St. Paul Kindergarten Class, Room 403 purchased the Peace Lily for the family of Joseph San Filippo.

Everything that's been said about Joe is so true.  He was a jewel to work for because it was more like working with him than for him.  He was self sufficient in so many ways, talented in so many ways and so pleasant always.  He made me laugh everyday and I will cherish the memories forever.  God bless him and his loving family

I was so sad to hear Joe's passing. I will always remember him as my best boss ever, always encouraging and supportive of my development, and always emphasizing the importance of a work/life balance. The last time my wife Bonnie saw Joe was at my sister Chris' house last spring. We were trying to leave and say goodbye to all the relatives.I asked if we saw everyone yet and she said" No I haven't got my kiss on the cheek yet from Joe" He always made sure everyone had a kiss on the cheek before they left.I was able to give him a goodbye kiss last week and Bonnie gave him a kiss this week welcoming to heaven.
