

Joseph Albert "Albrecht" Sharpe, 1Lt, USAF, age 30 of Columbus, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends, Saturday, March 14, 2015. Joe was born and raised in Conneaut, Ohio, son of Lawrence and Patricia Sharpe. Joe decided after September 11, 2001 to proudly enlist with the US Air Force where he served 12 years and attained the rank of First Lieutenant. Currently, he was stationed at Wright Patterson AFB. Joe earned 6 medals and served as a bugler for the USAF Honor Guard at Ellsworth AFB. Joe graduated from The Ohio State University where he studied Physics and was currently working on his Master's Degree in Engineering from Wright State University. Joe was a self-less, loving, kind-hearted, and generous man. He had a great sense of humor and an easy going personality. Joe loved to have fun with family and friends, was a tremendous OSU fan, and had a deep love for his wife and children above all else. For the last 13 months, Joe fought a valiant battle with Leukemia with many complications. Joe never complained and displayed the highest level of integrity and dignity throughout the process. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 12 years, Samantha Sharpe; children, Harmony Elizabeth and Noah Michael Joseph Sharpe; parents, MSgt. Lawrence A and Louise A Sharpe, (Ret.) and Patricia Sharpe; brother, Joshua L Sharpe; mother and father-in-law, Carol and Michael Perry; sister and brother-in-law, Amanda and Mitch Mucci; and many other extended family members and dear friends. Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Bexley United Methodist Church, 2657 E. Broad St. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd. Interment Mifflin Township Cemetery. Joe's family requests that all visiting on Wednesday, please bring with them their favorite photo of Joe to share on display at the ceremony.
