Joyce Elaine Carr

Joyce Elaine Greshel-Carr, loving and caring wife and mother, has left us to be with God. Born December 27, 1930 to Leonard and Mildred (Reinkens) Greshel, she is now reunited with them. Survived by her brother, Jared (Evelyn); husband Lester and three children, Lester E III (Terann), Melinda (Herb) and Jonathan (Lori); grandchildren Dana Renee, Jonathan Daniel, Wendell Gordon, Christopher Herbert, Eric Mathew, Hilary Katherine, Jeremy Elliott and by marriage Josh and Loren; great-grandchildren Devon, Delilah, Kraven, Emma, Jael and Jonathan; cousins, nephews and nieces; many special loving and close friends. Joyce was born and raised in the church, First Methodist, at 18th and Bryden. When First Church closed its doors, Joyce and Les found a new church home for their family at Good Samaritan Reformed Church in Gahanna. Joyce graduated from South High School and retired from the State Teachers Retirement System. She loved performing and was a student of Charlotte and Patricia Gaines. With her voice training (Mrs. Charlotte Gaines) she held the audience in the palm of her hand. Joyce was a member of Lyric Theatre, Grandparent's Living Theatre/SRO, Poetry Prose, Voice Corp, among other groups. She sang in the church choir and put together and presented many slide/music lectures. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Good Samaritan Reformed Church, 620 McCutcheon Road, Gahanna, OH with a luncheon to follow; The Rev. Ron Lockhorst, officiating. A family graveside service is scheduled. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the SRO Theatre Company, 1393 E. Broad St. Suite 103, Columbus, OH 43205. We will miss her and as time goes by we will see her again. Amen!
