Joyce M. Fletcher, 63, of Columbus, died unexpectedly Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville, Ohio. Joyce was born July 29, 1946 in Marysvale, Utah to Fred and Betty ( Howes) Moore. In 1964, she met Ronald Fletcher, who was stationed in Utah through the U.S. Army. They attended a New Year’s Eve dance that year and were united in marriage on August 7, 1965. Upon Ron’s discharge from the Army, they, along with Joyce’s three children, Donna, Vickie, and Deborah, moved back to his hometown of Columbus, Ohio. Joyce gave birth to David shortly after arriving in Columbus in 1966. Joyce spent her life devoted to her family. She attended The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Columbus, was active in the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, and had foster children and pets. She enjoyed having water fights with the kids and taking them for picnics with KFC and swimming afterwards. Joyce looked forward to drive-in-movies with the kids and attending David’s sporting events. She had a special relationship with her nine grandchildren and had the fortune of having each of them stay with her for an extended amount of time. Almost all of them received a home-made baby quilt from their grandmother. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Betty Moore, and will be missed by her loving husband, Ronald Fletcher, children, Donna (Mike) Loshbough, Vickie Dellinger, Deborah (Mike) DiGiorgi, and David (Marianne) Fletcher; 9 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, and 2 sisters. Joyce will be remembered for her big heart and aspiration to be involved. Family will receive friends Wednesday, December 2, 2009 from 1:00pm until the time of funeral services at 2:00pm at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd., Columbus.
