Joyce June Markin

Joyce June Markin (Mama), 75, of Columbus, passed away Monday, September 1, 2014 with her family at her side. Joyce was born December 30, 1938 in Caryville, TN to the late Duncan Mack and Hazel Flora McGhee. While she left us all too soon Mama touched everyone that ever knew her in a profound and loving way. She taught many of us how to love and care for another by example, loving everyone she met unconditionally, being a true matriarch to not only family, but friends as well. She made her home a warm, inviting place to spend time as a family, welcoming all, where we all were taught how to love, laugh, and have fun. Mama will be missed greatly by all that knew her. Joyce is survived by her husband of 58 years, Larry Eugene Markin, Sr; her siblings Donald (Brigette) McGhee and Brenda Duty; her children, Kimberly (David) Wieling, Richard (Jacquelyn Manders) Markin, Cheryl Pinney, Linda Hunt, David (Shay) Markin, Wendy Sipes, Elizabeth (Matthew) Hysell, daughter-in-law Cindy Markin,; her 22 grandchildren and their spouses, and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents Joyce is preceded in death by her brother, Robert McGhee; and her son Larry Eugene. Family will receive friends Thursday, September 4, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd. where a funeral service will be held Friday, September 5, 2014 at 1 PM. Interment will follow at Pioneer Cemetery.
