Kay Whaley

Charlene "Kay" Griffith Whaley, age 75, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2018. She was born March 16, 1943 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Elwood and Kathleen Griffith. She is survived by her husband of 57 years Bernard Whaley; daughter Lisa (Paul) Jackson of Naples, Florida; son Scott Whaley and brother David Griffith of Columbus; sister Marge Griffith Deal of New Lexington, OH; grandchildren Brooke (Kenneth) James, Corinne Jackson, Alaina Jackson; great-grandchildren Benjamin and Jacob James, along with a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing. Kay graduated from Mifflin High School, class of '61, and was a devoted wife, mother and mamaw. She enjoyed shopping, hanging out with friends, church activities and playing all sorts of card games. Family will welcome friends 5-8pm Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, OH 43230 where the funeral service will be held at 10:30am Friday; interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens; Andrew Hoover officiating.
