

Keith McNamara, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on October 26 at the age of 87. He is survived by Mary Lou, his wife of 32 years, his children Robert (Irene), Jeanie, Bruce (Daria Walsh) and Betsy (Anna-Beth Winograd);his ten grandchildren; Mary Lou's children Bob Gage (Soraya) and Kathy; and Mary Lou's three grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Jean Raab. Keith was predeceased by his parents, James and Gertrude McNamara, his first wife Babs Sayre McNamara, his brothers Paul and Don, and his sister Margaret Addison. Keith practiced law in Columbus for over 60 years at McNamara and McNamara Law Offices and served in the Ohio House of Representatives from 1960-1972. An active member of the Ohio Republican Party, Keith helped manage the Ohio presidential campaigns of Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford and George H.W. Bush. He was appointed by President Bush to the Board of Directors of the State Justice Institute in 1990 and served continuously until 2010. He served on the Ohio Board of Bar Examiners for many years and was Chairman from 1994 to 1995. Keith was a member of the Franklin County Board of Elections from 1993 to 2003 and was later Chairman (2003-2007) and Vice-Chairman (2007-2009) of the Ohio Liquor Control Commission. The funeral service for Keith will be held at 10am Saturday, October 31, 2015, at the Broad Street Presbyterian Church, 760 East Broad Street, Columbus, with Reverend Amy Miracle officiating.
